A well‑established professional services organisation is seeking a People Engagement Assistant to support its Reward & Recognition function. This role suits someone with strong administrative and payroll experience who enjoys working with detail, data, and confidential information. The position can be based in either the Edinburgh or Glasgow office, with hybrid working available.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting monthly payroll processes, including data updates, calculations, reporting, and handling colleague queries.
- Maintaining accurate information across HR and benefits systems, especially during onboarding and employee changes.
- Assisting with annual processes such as salary reviews, benefits administration, and preparing employee documentation.
- Running ad hoc management information reports and supporting finance with relevant payroll and headcount data.
- Managing confidential digital and physical documents in line with data security requirements.
- Monitoring shared inboxes and providing first‑line support for People Engagement queries.
- Processing and coding invoices, ensuring spend is tracked accurately.
- Providing occasional support to other HR specialisms as needed.
About You
- Experience in an administrative role with exposure to payroll, ideally in a corporate or professional services environment.
- Understanding of UK payroll legislation and willingness to stay updated.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with data.
- Demonstrates discretion when handling sensitive information.
- A proactive team player who looks for opportunities to improve processes.
